When doors to the China Clothing Textiles & Accessories Expo open in Sydney in July, a staggering 80 plus companies dedicated to home textiles and homewares will join the 250+ apparel, accessories and footwear suppliers. This unprecedented participation reflects the rising significance of home fashion and interior design within the global fashion industry, elevating the expo’s status as a comprehensive platform for showcasing the latest trends in both apparel and home decor.
The growth of this category in such a big way marks a significant milestone for the event and the retail industry in Australia, more broadly. It highlights the growing recognition of the interconnectedness between fashion and home aesthetics, as consumers seek to create cohesive and stylish living spaces that reflect their personal tastes.
Visitors to the expo will have the opportunity to explore an extensive range of home textiles, including luxurious bedding sets, elegant curtains, plush rugs, decorative cushions, and intricately designed table linens. The showcase will also feature a wide variety of fabrics for use in the home, such as silk, wool, linen, cotton, bamboo and hemp.
The participating companies represent a diverse mix of established brands and emerging designers from across China, all keen to demonstrate their creativity, craftsmanship, and innovative design concepts. Many hail from Nantong, Hangzhou, Shaoxing of Zhejiang Province and Qingdao of Shandong Province – each renowned for the sheer scale of their textiles industry.
“We are delighted to witness such a remarkable turnout of companies specializing in home textiles and homewares at this year’s China Clothing Textiles & Accessories Expo,” expressed organiser, Melissa Wortley. “This expanded focus reflects the growing recognition of the integral role played by home fashion in the broader fashion industry, and we are proud to provide a platform for Australian retailers and wholesalers to forge lasting partnerships with trading partners.”
The Expo’s notable focus on home textiles and homewares has garnered attention from a wide range of trade visitors, including interior designers, retailers, hoteliers, and home stylists. By showcasing the largest number of participating companies in this category to date, the event solidifies its reputation as a leading platform for exploring emerging trends and establishing fruitful trading collaborations between China and Australia.
In addition, visitors will access a further 300 exhibitors from ten countries around the world at the co-located Global Sourcing Expo.
The China Clothing Textiles and Accessories Expo will be held at the ICC Sydney from Tue 11 to Thu 13 July 2023.
