China Clothing Textile and Accessories Expo returns to the ICC June 12-14
Returning to Sydney following a huge 3000-strong attendance in 2023, the China Clothing Textile and Accessories Expo will save those in the rag trade traversing China for suppliers by bringing 850 suppliers from 15 countries and regions to Sydney from 12-14 June. A must-attend event for industry professionals, it’s the largest convention of suppliers of fashion, textiles and homewares of its kind.
Covering five key verticals – accessories, clothing, footwear and bags, home and lifestyle and home textiles and fabrics – the event plays host to hundreds of suppliers, and in conjunction with the Global Sourcing Expo, offers unparalleled access to exhibitors from around the world.
During the unique event, those in the industry will not only gather unprecedented access to trend identification in fashion and manufacturing for apparel, textiles and accessories, but can also connect, network and order directly with international manufacturers, suppliers, agents and experts, as well as learn how to scale and how to effectively audit and compare your supply chain.
Supported by a robust education program, visitors will also have a chance to learn from the Seminar Series – including panels with the likes of Elizabeth Formosa (Fashion Equipped) on Navigating the Conscious Fashion Evolution, Melinda Tually (Director of Strategic Human Rights and Sustainability NDLESS) on the Digital Product Passport, Evelyn Gibson (Partnerships Lead, World Fashion Exchange) on Sustainability Tracing in the Supply Chain, Jude Kingston (Director Mind Your Fashion) on presenting collections to international fashion buyers, alongside panel discussions with representatives from David Jones, Outland Denim, RMIT and more.
Some of these manufacturers produce highly technical garments including shapewear, swimwear, triathlon, athletic, outdoor, snow/ski, equestrian, and western and work wear, others are more fashion focused.
Past attendees of previous events include representatives from Camilla and Marc, Adairs, Country Road, Cotton On, Concept Brands, Decjuba, Elk, Fenton & Fenton, Husk, Just Group, Kookai, Mecca, Nagnata, PE Nation, RM Williams, Scanlan Theodore, Seed Heritage, Veronika Maine, Viktoria & Woods, and Zimmermann just to name a few. When surveyed, 71% of these past visitors came to the event to discover new products and suppliers, as well as explore new sourcing regions.
Notable exhibitors include Qingdao Y.L.S Textiles Co., LTD – suppliers to Nautica, Laura Ashley, Vera Wang, Maison Franc and Anthropologie – and HBT Garment Co., Ltd – listed as a social and ethical supplier, and a BSCI, SEDEX, GRS, and OEKO-TEX100 certified company specialising in sportswear, casual wear and swimwear with the ability to produce recycled fabrics.
WHY ATTEND?
For Buyers:
Efficiency and cost optimisation are paramount concerns for buyers. The expo streamlines the sourcing process, providing a centralised platform within Australia where buyers can meet multiple suppliers and manufacturers under one roof. This eliminates the need for extensive travel and multiple meetings, resulting in significant time and cost savings. By attending the expo, buyers can efficiently evaluate various options, negotiate competitive deals, and ultimately optimise their sourcing strategy.
For Designers:
Staying informed about the latest industry insights and trends is vital for any designer seeking to remain competitive. The China Clothing Textiles & Accessories Expo serves as a platform for industry leaders to share their knowledge, expertise, and predictions for the future. Seminars, panel discussions, and trend forecasting sessions at the co-located Global Sourcing Expo provide valuable insights into consumer behaviour, market shifts, and emerging technologies, empowering decisionmakers to make informed decisions and gain a competitive edge. Designers can innovate product planning by understanding the capabilities of new technologies including fabrics, finishing (i.e. heat seal and laser punching technology) to name a few.
For those aspiring to work in the fashion and textiles industries:
Learn about and connect with interesting suppliers – align on values (innovation, performance, R & D, delivery, quality control, fabrics, yarns, dye’s), learn about the companies proactively seeking ethical and eco-friendly protocols.
